A Model Citizen

Ok, well I'm not so much model. I feel like I am living my life backwards or in slow motion sometimes. Who am I and what am I doing? Well that seems rather existential, but I will answer as best and to the point as I can.
Who am well, I am a 40 something overeducated underemployed woman, mom. I was out of the 'workforce' for almost 11 years! I stayed home in order to raise my four kiddos. Over the course of covid staying at home I went slightly nuts. I did have a big moment in self-actualization and realized that I just needed to go for what I wanted. I applied for my masters in psychology and was accepted. I am currently coming to the end of my studies and searching for a practicum placement.
In the last year we noticed that we could just not keep up financially anymore. There was a lot more stress in our home making ends meet and I had taken out a student loan for school. Gulp, it was time. I polished up my resume and began looking for work. Easier said than done, I had a degree, valuable work and volunteer experience but it was dated. I eventually took a contract role as an educational assistant in a high school. It was terrifying, and ultimately such a great experience. I made the best connections and friends. As my contract ended I decided with a little kick in the butt by the unseen force of faith to take a different role the following year. I now work part time as a Child Development Advisor at an elementary school. It has been a great year so far, helping kids with big feelings and being able to support them and teachers when I can.
I have big goals this year, I am looking at learning more about financial literacy, budgeting, and making ends meet with four kids. I am beginning my practicum placement in May, and I would love to be able to focus entirely on that. I love learning and creating a life of love, and success.
